Bansko is a convenient 160 kilometres from the Bulgarian capital Sofia. It is an easy drive from the Sofia Airport on good roads.  The ski season runs from mid-December until mid-May and the average temperature in January hovers around -2°C.  Best of all, heavy snowfall and excellent snow-making machinery ensure that Bansko ski runs are always in great condition!  Bansko has a total of 25km of lifts ready to whisks thousands of exhilarated skiers up the hill each day, allowing them to take advantage of nearly 70km of runs for all skill levels.  The resort boasts excellent facilities for beginners as well as night skiing and a snowpark for the more extreme skiers and snowboarders among us.  There is an excellent ski-school at Bansko as well with instructors ready to help you develop your skills.  Ski rentals are available, and with brands such as Atomic and Solomon, you can be guaranteed quality rental equipment.
