Quality, modern Skiing
The quality of the modern ski facilities and the stunning natural beauty of the UNESCO listed Pirin National Park have made Bansko one of the most popular ski resorts in all of Bulgaria. As time goes by, this south-western Bulgarian location is becoming more well-known throughout the country as well as in the rest of Europe. The reasons for this are plenty. Bansko boasts 65 kilometres of runs that range from beginner to expert making this a place where the whole family can have a great time. The area, surrounded by untouched, pristine natural beauty, is simply stunning. The beauty of Bansko is hard to believe when you arrive and hard to forget when you leave.
Real skiing for everyone...
Bansko features an almost equal mix of runs for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders in two main ski areas - Chalin Valog (1100 - 1600m) and Shiligarnika (1700 - 2500m) . The area is served by a 26km long network of modern lifts and pulls which include an 8 seat Doppelmayer Gondola, five 4-seat Doppelmayer lifts, one 3-seat Poma lift, 6 drag lifts and ten rope pulls. The snow on the slopes is tended to by a fleet of 12 snow grooming machines which ensure great quality snow no matter what the conditions. The slopes see an accumulated snow base of around 2 metres all season long. An established Ski and Snowboard school provides lessons for all levels and ages of skiers and snowboarders and the Junior Ski Club is a great place for children to safely have fun while their parents enjoy the slopes
...and not only skiing
Despite the focus on alpine skiing, this isn't all that Bansko has to offer. In addition to the extensive ski network, there is a half-pipe and Snowboard Fun Park, a biathlon track and shooting range, a full network of cross-country trails and a winter sports stadium. With a winter season which lasts for almost 6 months and with snow guaranteed from December to May, Bansko is a snow lover's paradise.
