By Bus - very economical and regular service
The most common option is the bus. There are regular bus lines from Sofia to Bansko and many of the other villages in the area in just under three hours. A one-way ticket from Central station in Sofia will cost around 7 euros. Small groups can also take advantage of the charter busses that travel to and from the resort town directly from the airport. For approximately 25 euros per person, the trip takes just under two hours. Visit the following link for more information: Central Bus Station Sofia - Timetable

Rent a car and driver - the easiest option and not so expensive
Or if you don’t want to drive yourself, a car and driver can be hired to Bansko for about 80 euros.  Don’t forget that in this case, you should also consider leaving the driver a tip. If you are hoping for a little more comfort and convenience, you can rent a car for approximately 25euro per day plus taxes.

Take the Train - beware, a real adventure!
An interesting option is to take the train from Sofia to Bansko. We do not recommend this option, but if you have the time, and you are up for the scenery and the adventure, go for it! The train takes a considerable amount of time as the route is not direct, there is sure to be at least one transfer and the trip takes about seven hours but for those intent on seeing the countryside, this is a very scenic and extremely economical option – a one-way ticket costs around 7 euro!
